Universe in an Atom
Atoms are known by their characteristic spectra; each having a distinct spectrum. About hundred of them have been found and analysed. Interestingly, they not only account for things around us, the information about the distant stars and galaxies is also gathered by studying their spectra. However, the spectra from the galaxies are shifted towards red because the universe is expanding and all the objects are moving away from each other. The image is a manipulation of Xenon spectrum.
